In addition to the school, they offer space for leisure activities, cultural events and social projects. In this way, schools become open meeting places that enrich the neighbourhood, use resources efficiently and promote a stronger bond between school and neighbourhood.

Inclusion – This focus is dedicated to designing inclusive learning environments in which all students, regardless of physical, mental or social conditions, are equally supported and integrated. This involves barrier-free architecture, flexible room concepts and special support services that enable participation and equal opportunities. Inclusion creates an appreciative atmosphere and promotes a sense of togetherness by experiencing diversity as a strength and enabling joint learning.

Moderation of the day: Anneke von Holst
Communication & Concepts for Architecture and the City, Berlin

10.00 a.m.

Admission / Meet and Greet: Time for a short tour
Our guided exhibitor tour for architects and planners, school building authorities, school administrators and educators

10.50 – 11.00 a.m.

We’re all drumming up!
Because now it starts
Moderator: Anneke von Holst, Berlin

11.00 – 11.15 a.m.

Expert Lab – an expert has his say
Leave them kids alone – what school building has to do with self-efficacy
Matthias Rottmann, architect and partner at De Zwarte Hond

11.15 a.m. – 11.40 a.m.

Opening
Kirsten Jung, Founder and Managing Director of the SCHULBAU trade fair
Peter Hirschmann, Head of the Office for Schools
Thomas Dienberg, Mayor and Alderman for Urban Development and Construction

From 11.40

The meeting place for everyone, consulting for school construction and participation processes
and need phase zero.
In our planning café you will receive
Individual advice from our selected experts.
Feel free to bring any questions with you. This is where the “All-Day and Space” project comes in: The Montag Foundation Youth and Society is developing concepts for integrated use at five locations selected throughout Germany. The focus is on teamwork, child-friendly rhythm, adapted furniture and fire protection in order to dovetail morning and afternoon pedagogically, organizationally and spatially.
