Inspiring concepts for modern education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

One of the greatest challenges in school construction is finding the right contacts to implement interesting projects. Promoting communication between the various stakeholders in educational construction was therefore the most important goal of the trade fair \u2013 and it was achieved across the board. Furthermore, a variety of speakers presented modern concepts. A highlight was the excursion, which provided live insights into a major transformation project. <\/p>\n\n

Trade fair visitors were greeted in Frankfurt on April 15 and 16 with sunshine and 20\u00b0C. A trade fair kickoff could not be more successful, and the conditions for an event could not be better. The two days of the fair went just as well: for visitors, speakers, and exhibitors alike. <\/p>\n\n

First Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Sylvia Weber, the City of Frankfurt am Main’s Head of Department for Education, Real Estate, and New Construction, opened the event before a full house. The rows of seats remained filled throughout the day. With cutting-edge topics ranging from sustainability, climate protection & sustainable construction to pedagogy, learning concepts & educational science, as well as international impulses, participants were offered a wealth of content. The speakers enriched the day with their exciting presentations, and the “Q&A at the kitchen table” offered unique insights into the potential that arises when experts from different fields are brought together. To round off the day, Kirsten Jung invited guests to the Blue Hour. With DJ music and drinks, attendees could continue the day’s conversations, expand their networks, and delve deeper into questions with speakers and exhibitors. <\/p>\n\n

Second Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The trade fair also had much to offer visitors on the second day: 14 speakers discussed the focal themes of transformation, political framework conditions, and opportunities for participation in the planning of new learning spaces across 12 presentations. Kirsten Jung, Managing Director of SCHULBAU, guided the audience through the day with charm and expertise. Those who had not managed to visit all the exhibitors on the first day could use the second day to hold discussions with the diverse range of exhibitors. They also had much to offer to facilitate the planning and implementation of projects: from construction planning and the use of modern solutions for the building itself to the individual furnishing of learning spaces. <\/p>\n\n

Excursion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Trade fair visitors had the unique opportunity to participate in an excursion to the “Lateral Towers.” This transformation project, in which the former New Frankfurt Stock Exchange is being converted into a six-form secondary school (Gymnasium), was presented by Ms. Wei\u00dfe (City of Frankfurt Magistrate), Ms. Kuhnert (ABI), and Mr. Singer (ABI). During the on-site inspection, many challenges and clever solutions became clear. An absolute highlight for everyone involved in the repurposing of buildings and a successful conclusion to the two-day event. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe Schulbau trade fair in Frankfurt has once again proven to be a successful format that convincingly brings together the different perspectives of pedagogy, architecture, and construction. The interdisciplinary exchange was particularly valuable: educators, planners, and decision-makers were able to learn from one another and develop joint solutions for sustainable learning spaces.In addition to the professional impulses, personal exchange was not neglected. Many good conversations and new contacts were established in a pleasant atmosphere, which will continue to have an impact beyond the event. The mix of inspiration, practical relevance, and open dialogue made the fair an all-around enriching experience for me and my attending executives.Last but not least, the event was simply fun \u2013 an aspect that shows how vibrantly and motivatingly the topic of school construction can be communicated.Conclusion: A strong format with real added value.
