{"id":26108,"date":"2026-09-21T14:16:46","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T12:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schulbau.online\/school-children-and-family-center-sports-and-adult-education-under-one-roof\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T21:21:44","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T19:21:44","slug":"school-children-and-family-center-sports-and-adult-education-under-one-roof","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schulbau.online\/en\/school-children-and-family-center-sports-and-adult-education-under-one-roof\/","title":{"rendered":"School, Children and Family Center, Sports, and Adult Education under one roof"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A multi-purpose educational building<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the NeckarPark Educational Building, Stuttgart combines school, childcare, sports, and adult education into a compact complex with an educational mission.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July 2021, the state capital Stuttgart commissioned Wolff &amp; M\u00fcller as general contractor for the turnkey construction of the NeckarPark Educational Building in the new NeckarPark urban district in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. The building houses a four-stream full-day primary school, a children and family center with seven groups for children aged 0 to 6, a two-court sports hall with 136 seats, and the Bad Cannstatt adult education center (Volkshochschule Stuttgart). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flexible Use in a Growing District<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to delayed construction developments, school operations initially started on a reduced scale, with the Helene-Schoettle School temporarily using spaces on the third floor during the transitional phase.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Architecture Connects All Uses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A continuous \u201ceducational thoroughfare\u201d is the central spatial element, linking all uses, serving as orientation and a common area.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Urbanistically, the educational building is divided into three structures: the school and children and family center in the north, the adult education center building in the south, and the single-story sports hall in between. The U-shaped arrangement opens up a shared inner courtyard. The project sets new standards with its construction: the upper floors were realized in timber-hybrid construction above a reinforced concrete base.
