How does a Schulbau GmbH work? Jan Schneck provides insights into tasks and organization.

The SCHULBAU trade fair on November 10 and 11 in Hamburg will offer an exciting stage and conference program. As the number of pupils in Hamburg’s schools continues to grow, strategies are needed that focus on quality, sustainability and pedagogical openness. One approach that is increasingly coming into focus is the establishment of independent school construction organizations – for example in the form of a “Schulbau GmbH”. Such a structure can bundle processes, manage projects more efficiently and create the basis for an innovative, sustainable school landscape in the long term. Jan Schneck will be able to reveal what the organization behind it might look like and what school construction tasks a GmbH would have to take on. Together with other representatives from northern Germany, ideas and food for thought will be exchanged at our kitchen table. We look forward to exciting insights!

About the person:

Jan Schneck took over as Managing Director of Schulbau Hamburg in 2021 and is responsible for the construction and management of around 380 schools in Hamburg. He initially worked as an architect in Hanover. After completing his second state examination and working for three years in university and cultural construction at Sächsisches Immobilien- und Baumanagement in Dresden, he took over as head of building management for the Hanseatic City of Lübeck in 2006. Since 2010, Jan Schneck has built up school construction in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg as Head of the Construction Department and Head of the North Division.
