Education is the key to the future – and the architecture of our schools plays a central role in this. To emphasize the importance of thoughtful and sustainable educational construction, the SCHULBAU Award will be presented again this year. We are launching this prize to honor outstanding architectural achievements in school construction.

Modern facades are also an important element for contemporary construction. Saving energy, improving the indoor climate, and thus contributing to environmental protection while sustainably shaping the appearance of a building are central tasks of architecture. We want to give these the attention they deserve with the Facade Technology Award.

Both prizes will be awarded on November 11 in Berlin as part of our International SCHULBAU Trade Fair. We are looking for school buildings and facade solutions that combine architectural quality with maximum climate compatibility. The goal is to identify and honor projects that exhibit minimal CO₂ emissions throughout their entire life cycle, are climate-neutral or climate-positive in operation, and contribute to the construction transition through material and construction-related innovations.
