Architecture as a connecting element between school, neighborhood, and society is at the heart of Annette Paul’s work. As an architect and founding partner of Lorber Paul Architekten GmbH, she develops educational buildings that combine pedagogical concepts with identity-forming architecture.
Lecture topic
Under the title “The Village Community”, Annette Paul presents the new build of the Knappenstraße comprehensive school. The project understands school as an open place for learning and encounters in the neighborhood: several polygonal building volumes integrate into the heterogeneous surroundings and create a sheltered schoolyard with mature trees. The shared green center forms the spatial and pedagogical heart of the school, a place of arrival, orientation, and informal learning.
