SCHULBAU Messe Hamburg 2025: Marion Pflugfelder from SPINN Arkitekter knows how Norwegian school buildings activate the local community

As part of the SCHULBAU 2025 trade fair in Hamburg, Marion Pflugfelder will provide exciting insights into the Norwegian school system. Under the inspiring title “SCHOOL + CULTURE = TRUE”, she will shed light on how school buildings in Norway are used far beyond their original educational function.

Schools are not only places of learning, but also lively meeting places for society, where cultural events, sports and community activities take place. This multiple use strengthens social interaction, promotes cultural participation and creates a close connection between school and neighborhood.

Perhaps it will also provide us with valuable ideas on how we can open up school buildings in Germany more to local community, culture and sport and thus turn them into lively places of exchange and encounter.

About the person:

Marion Luise Pflugfelder completed her training in Constance and has worked internationally in various offices, including in Stuttgart, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stavanger and Cochabamba. Social projects such as schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, retirement homes and similar projects are particularly close to her heart. As an architect and head of department for SPINN Vest since 2018, she has accompanied projects in all phases – from the first sketch to construction site supervision. Marion is therefore used to working on different scales. She has extensive experience with construction projects for private and public developers as well as assignments as a specialist juror. She enjoys working with different people, leading creative processes and involving users, residents and other stakeholders in the planning process.
