School construction as a joint project – knowledge, dialogue and participation
School construction is not a one-way street: Rather, the interaction between administration, planning, education and the public is deliberately promoted – with plenty of room for exchange, participation and individual advice. With formats and diverse formats, we focus specifically on knowledge transfer and collegial dialogue.

Existing Buildings, Construction Practice and Quality Assurance – How School Spaces Are Thought Ahead Today
Whether urban redevelopment or the preservation of existing buildings, the focus is on the further development of existing buildings. School construction is thought of here as a long-term task that combines sustainability, functionality and design. New forms of planning, such as the establishment of municipal school construction associations, provide practical insights into current strategies and options for action.

Security, Responsibility and Sustainability – Technical Answers to Pedagogical Challenges
Whether façade technology, PPP life cycle approach or other impulses – we take a differentiated look at the infrastructural requirements of modern educational buildings. This is about more than structural standards – it is about resilience, user comfort and investment security. We deal with the question of how technical planning can contribute to creating safe, economical and sustainable places of learning.

A study on the profitability of PPP life cycle costs shows that life cycle costs are 17% to 35% lower than those of conventional projects. In addition, PPP projects have a high degree of schedule and cost certainty as well as specific qualities in the areas of maintenance and energy management. Municipal clients rate the previous PPP performance with a grade of 1.7*.

School as a Neighbourhood Component – How Educational Institutions Help Shape the City
We read school building as an urban factor: it’s about educational spaces that don’t stand on their own, but become part of a larger whole – socio-spatially networked, open to neighbourhood and multiple uses. The question of how schools open up to the neighbourhood and react architecturally and organisationally to urban society runs as a leitmotif throughout the day.

All-day care needs space – and attitude
The discussions about all-day school and spatial culture take up a topic that is profoundly changing school construction. New learning time models and changed everyday rhythms require a different spatial response. Together, we explore how architecture can respond to these requirements – beyond classic corridor schools and rigid room programs.

Sharing transformation knowledge – from open source to architecture education
The second day deliberately focuses on knowledge transfer: How can sustainable school construction be consolidated, multiplied and made openly accessible? With articles such as “Schulbau Open Source” or the AKNW’s “Architektur macht Schule” project, we dedicate ourselves to precisely this interface between research, mediation and construction practice – and thus send a signal for collective learning in the planning process.

Workshop I, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.

How can children and adolescents – including in SCP schools – be effectively integrated into the
