Brunnenviertel School Construction Initiative – A Neighborhood in Transformation

How does a school refurbishment transform life in an entire district? At SCHULBAU Berlin, District Councillor Benjamin Fritz will illustrate, using the example of the Brunnenviertel in Berlin-Wedding, the potential impact of Berlin’s School Construction Initiative on a school’s immediate surroundings. The focus will be on the refurbishment and expansion of the Ernst-Reuter-Schule.

As part of Berlin’s School Construction Initiative, the Ernst-Reuter-Schule is undergoing comprehensive refurbishment and expansion. Consequently, a large proportion of students must be temporarily relocated to another site. This measure not only affects daily school life but also has implications for the entire district. The presentation will highlight the challenges associated with such construction projects and how these changes impact the school and neighborhood environment.
