New Learning Spaces for Berlin: Nine Schools from Practice

What does the Berlin learning and team house concept look like in built practice? Daniela Riedel, Head of School Construction at HOWOGE, will provide insights into nine completed compartment schools at SCHULBAU Berlin on 11 November 2026. The projects were developed as part of the Berlin School Construction Initiative. Using concrete school examples, she will present the concept and report on experiences from implementation.

The speaker
Daniela Riedel has headed the School Construction division of HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH since January 2026, with 60 employees and over 37 school construction projects. Following her degree in urban planning, she founded Zebralog in 2005, a company for participation and digital dialogue processes. From 2019, she headed the “Housing Construction and Infrastructure” division at the Berliner Senatskanzlei. Today, she brings her experience in urban planning, participation, and administration to the shaping of the Berlin educational landscape.
