New school locations for Berlin’s southwest
How are new school places created in a growing district? At SCHULBAU Berlin, District Councilor Malgorzata Sijbrandij provides insights into current school construction projects in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. The focus is on two planned new school buildings designed to expand the educational offering in Berlin’s southwest in the future.
In her presentation, “Current Developments in School Construction in the District of Steglitz-Zehlendorf,” she presents the plans for a new Integrated Secondary School on Ostpreußendamm in Lichterfelde as well as a primary school in the emerging Neulichterfelde urban quarter. Both projects aim to create additional school capacities and further develop the district’s educational infrastructure, addressing the critical question of how new school locations can be integrated into existing and growing urban neighborhoods.
