New Construction and Additional School Space in Berlin-Mitte

A new secondary school has been completed at Schulstraße 97 in Berlin-Mitte. The building provides space for 664 students and will initially be used as an interim solution for the Albert Gutzmann School. While the existing school operations temporarily move into the new building, the previous location on Pankstraße will be developed into a new additional school campus. After completion of the construction work, the school will return to its original location. The school campus will then be expanded into another school.

Dual Use Creates Options

The interim use of the building enables the Mitte district to implement the school construction project on Pankstraße without interrupting ongoing school operations. The new building on Schulstraße thus assumes an important function within the district’s school construction planning.

Modern Equipment for School Operations

The building was constructed according to the Berlin Learning and Team House concept. The rooms are designed for different teaching methods, connect multiple learning areas, and create additional opportunities for collaborative work and common areas.

The architecture focuses on bright rooms, open areas, and flexible use of the various building sections. In addition to the classrooms, spaces are available for meetings, collaboration, and school events. The new school building also includes a cafeteria as well as a sports hall with six hall sections. The sports facilities can be used for additional purposes beyond school sports.
